Let's talk about the sign of the times, with the current economy crisis, little changes affects our daily lives. To start, here are a few things I've noticed.

* More and more empty (for rent) shop fronts appearing in neighborhood centers,
* The food court in my neighborhood just increase 10-cents on toast and egg breakfast set yesterday if I order milo instead of coffee.
* On a few occasion, I saw old fat aunties going around MRT stations asking for $2 from everyone she approaches, saying - Can give me 2 dollars?
* Reported in this forum before by some brother, I also notice old women waiting outside Shop N Save begging for stamps/coupons in exchange for kitchen utensils.

The most recent case is the Shin Min Editor case....really open citizen eyes to how corrupt the judicial in sinkaPoor really is.

Singapore is a wonderful place to live in if you have the right attitude and mix with the right people, such as the wonderful new immigrants from PRC and Burma.

I found my life a lot more interesting with my PRC friends - my staff, my customers and neighbours. My Burmese staff are also wonderful. I may hire Pinoys too, but so far PRC and Burmese the most hardworking.

There is something horribly wrong with the people here. Our society is near-dysfunctional. Based on my experiences in trying to get things done, i find sinkees extremely clueless, lazy, and demanding. It seems sinkees cannot get anything done or have any insight on anything, and in time this will lead to our society becoming very sluggish.

Before you conclude that 'FTs are better', i have even less confidence in them. They are leeches. Even if they're hardworking, they're just machines who can't serve any other function but cheap labour.
