Serious A Series of Unfortunate Events Led To MRT Train Breakdown On 14 Oct 2020! Guess The Race Of The Technicians Who Fucked Up Big Time!

they are not properly trained in the basics of electrical and power systems. a short such as high voltage or power cable touching and burning the insulation through on another cable can cause fuses to blow and trip panels to click. apparently the power trip did not work, and the short cascaded through other cable and power systems. isolation of short and cable fault should be easily monitored and confined. instead of shutting down power and isolating the fault or short, they propagate it. training fails and iq is 69 or below. there are i.t. tools and an ops room decked with every conceivable fcap systems to pinpoint and isolate the issue. wtf?!

The last 2 Transport Ministers fate were to resign after their stint...looks like Ong Ke Yung likely to follow suit.

Insulation cable breakdown is not a small incident. Sign of bigger faults.
yalor. if there’s one meltdown, there’s got to be more. may have to inspect all cables and identify old worn insulation from new ones. even when new, an intermittent short somewhere will gradually degrade the insulation. since 2016.9 i’ve seen too many cables strung alongside each other on the fencing in the east-west and north-south lines. wtf are they doing with tons of cables strung like that?

Its no use if they keep changing parts with the cheapest from china. Even china parts have different quality.

no matter how good the quality is meltdown can also be caused by tight or no cable separation between high voltage power cables. power cables bundled together can heat up very fast if there’s an intermittent short from prolonged wear and tear besides causing emc and emi issues to (other) data-carrying cables. i believe the voltage for the e-w, n-s, and cc lines is 750v. there was a similar situation when insulation failure on the 3rd rail (high voltage powered rail) 5 years ago on july 7, 2015 caused service disruption that lasted for over 2 hours on the east-west and north-south lines. that one tripped the touch voltage protection relay (tvpr - a series of relays to trip and shut the power so as to prevent personnel and commuters from touching the "live" 3rd rail).

Table C - BS 7671 (1992) Separation Guidelines (IEE Wiring Regulations, 16th Edition)
BS7671 (1992)
Voltage (V)Distance (mm)Current (A)Distance (mm)

In that case, its a design failure.
