i say that is a smart move by s'pore companies, look at smrt, temasek and the coming soon singtel. what does that tell you about a woman leader. it will lead to downfall, women are naturally bad drivers, they should just stay at home to cook and look after kids. who knows they may eventually turn into siao char bor like those from sph, in the past.

ASEAN peers outperform in terms of equality.
Senior management positions remain elusive for Singaporean women in 2016, according to a survey by recruitment firm Grant Thornton.
The survey showed that 25% of businesses in Singapore have no women in senior management positions, hugher compared to just 18% last year. However, this figure is lower than the regional average of 31%.
Meanwhile, just 26% of senior management roles in Singapore are held by women, slightly higher than the regional average of 23%. However, this is below 39% in the Philippines, 37% in Thailand, and 36% in Indonesia.
Globally, the proportion of senior business roles held by women stands at 24%, up slightly from 22% in 2015.
However, this minor uplift has coincided with an increase in the percentage of firms with no women in senior management, at 33% in 2016 compared to 32% last year.
“The global trend of emerging economies outperforming their developed peers when it comes to diversity in business leadership is particularly visible in the APAC region. The Philippines, Thailand and Indonesia are among the world’s ten best-performing nations when it comes to the occupation of senior business positions by women. In these nations, a well-established culture of women receiving further education and advocacy of the women in business cause has spurred change,” said Lorraine Parkin, Head of Indirect Tax APAC.

Women probably work best behind a man, rather than directly in front.
Look at the case of LKY, some believe that the brains was actually his wife.

There is also a very dearth representation of female at sewers, Construction and also chef too. Why stop at top level management ?

You can't blame the men if women can't make it in the corporate world.

sinkies already arent very well known for their entrepreneurial instincts or their capitalistic drive,if anything the women are more likely to believe in getting a good education, getting a good job and work for the establishment and vote for PAP,working up the ladder for promotions.if i have the balls to break conventional rules, defy the norm and put my balls on the line and start a business, why the fuck do i want to hire a sinkie female who just want to sit around, play it safe, play by the book,go law by law, recite motherhood statements, cant think outside the box and take none of the risk?so i can just pay her pretty ass 200k a year to spout nonsense?

The corporate world is hungry for talent. They don't care if this comes in skirts. Women don't make it because they choose to drop out or give other things priority. What they want is that businesses make all kinds of allowances for them. Clearly impossible unless workers are scarce. In times of plenty, forget it.

Women have themselves to blame if they did not marry well enough to be in senior leadership roles.
