[h=2]A Personal Plea to Punggol East SMC Residents[/h]

The fact that PM Lee can send a legal letter to blogger Alex Au had shown that the ruling elites do read the Social Medias and know of our deep concerns about national issues like Increasing Costs of Living, High HDB Prices, Job Losses to Foreign Talents, High COE Prices, Constant Breakdown of Public Transportation etc. but chose not to react maybe because they have dug a hole so deep due to their incompetency that now they DO NOT know to how to climb out of it.
This coming By-Election is no longer a local issue of Punggol East SMC. There can be a lot of discussions about Rivervale Plaza, RC Centers, Feeder Bus Services and etc. What is the point of having nice facilities and amenities if every day we can’t have a peace of mind. In going through our lives, remember “Health is Wealth, but having a Peace of Mind is PRICELESS”
No matter how much we want to talk about local issues, we cannot deviate from the real national issues. The time has come for Singaporeans to see that it is not the ‘other person” that is earning only $1,500 a month and struggling with
life. What goes around comes around, meaning what if one day you ARE THE ONE earning a low salary to make ends meet?
I have a friend who managed to sell his flat in Sengkang for a high price and subsequently bought a 2-year old condo and an expensive fancy car. He was able to meet the downpayment for both and the remainer paid for by monthly instalments.
He is so damn happy about his life and the PAP Government. I doubt he gives a damn about the old people going around collecting card-board boxes. I really pity him and his family as he had forgot:
1) Is he so sure that he can hold on to his job for the next 20-25 years in order to service his instalments? (BTW he works in a bank)
2) Selling his own flat at a high price is attractive as he can use the money presently but since he has two young sons, is he even aware that he is merely borrowing now against his two young sons future?? What kind of slavery does he want his two sons to be in when they set up their families in the future??
In short, how many of these kind of people are now living amongst us? Are they the 60% ?? I have seen many many Singaporeans on facebook posting pictures of them posing with their BMW’s, Merz’s and Ferrari’s. Many many pictures of their holidays to far far away places and exotic destinations. These are not wrong and I don’t have an issue with them but do these people actually ponder how hard is it for some Singaporeans just to make ends meet at the end of the month because of stagnating salaries and high inflation due to PAP policies?
If all of us Singaporeans would just stop for 5 mins and look into our children faces and ask ourselves “What kind of future do I want for my child”?, then the answer could be more obvious to bring more Alternative voices into Parliament.
Polling day is on 26 January 2013 and I hope all Punggol East Residents will make a wise choice in selecting the right candidate to represent them in Parliament. This could be a momentous occasion to herald in the run-up to GE2016. Besides the WP, there is still SDP and NSP waiting in the wings to show Singaporeans that the future of their children is not lost…….at least not yet in totality!
