"A heated debate is better than silent acceptance", that's the thought in my mind when I look back at the recent political changes around the world.

The Malaysians opted for status quo despite a wave of scandals and demise of state-owned enterprises like 1MDB, MAS, Proton, etc. Even their local Chinese community are now holding the leadership in high regards with the strengthening of ties with China. Now, the corrupted regime looks set to retain their rule into perpetuality.

On the other hand,
- Last night, we saw a million protesting Koreans seeking to oust a rouge President.
- The fearless British opted for short-term pain and chose to exit EU so that they will not be dictated by Brussels over financial and refugee matters.
- The Americans voted for someone who is not interested in conflicts with Russia, Middle East, South China Sea and determined to protect US jobs at the expense of being isolated from the world.

A society needs to reach deeper if we want anything better than continual rot.
No prejudice, just the will of people being heard, directed by core values.

In SG, when the EP criteria change policy was table in parliament, there was heated debate by many MPs too.

Ended up? All 77 PAP MPs voted for it without amendment.

With or without Party Whip aside, was there really heated debate or silent acceptance?

Will the world gets worse before it will get better?

It is political apathy by the general population, so I would say we are more alike Malaysia and minority individuals with grievances will not be heard.
Nothing wrong but the general public needs to be aware of the situation and be more prepared on an individual basis.

This is going to be a very difficult period in history, for good or bad for individuals with intelligence. There's two way to survive:
- The three examples cited, South Korea, UK and US opted for short-term pain for sustainability.
- Likewise you can choose to be indifferent, until abandoned.

Now, the Malaysian Chinese have themselves to blame.

Support for Najib hit new high among the Chinese community. Send them to an election now and 2/3 will vote for Najib because he promised to open to attract more China men with marry concubines and buy condos in Malaysia. Even Malaysia Airlines is projecting massive business growth from China visitors.

The carrier doesn’t have enough planes to meet the unprecedented opportunity in China
