Anyone notice that the picture of LKY doing something for the public was when he still had hair:biggrin:

How things have changed. Nowadays the only time one see's him is with all his body.guards

Chilled green bean soup -- Cecilia made bowls of it for us when we helped deliver her new Senior Mobility Fund wheelchair to her flat. We helped sign her up for it after visiting her in the flat several weeks ago. So cool!

More pertinently, anyone noticed that pictures do not always reflect reality?

One thing truly amazing about the WP is the high degree of interaction its MPs have with constituents in Hougang and Aljunied. A lot of residents actually know the MP that is serving their ward. This is unlike the case in many PAP wards where residents are clueless as to who is their MP. In my own PAP-run constituency, where I have lived for 17 years, I have not once chanced upon my MP.

well done! workers' party!!

A small gesture like this will go a long way.

The receipient/s will always remember such a good deed.

I still remember those days when the British-administered schools in Singapore, where I was a student gave free milk to malnourished students..

How can I not remember?

I was one such receipient.

Keep it up WP.

Very Good Indeed

The problem is that the PAP MPs have too many positions/directorships to hold.

This leaves them no time to meet the residents - the very people chosen by them as their representatives in Parliament.

Hope the PAP can learn from the humble WP.

It will be a great spectacle if Ah Loong and Ah Mao is pitted on a live debate with regards to the problems facing this country. It will be a great Face-Off.:o

Who on earth give Chen Show Mao the coveted title “魏徵”? None but himself.

What has Mao Mao ever done to self-reward that title? None!

No one in this country has the shame or audacity by comparing himself /herself to great historical figures like 魏徵 or Gandhi or Aung San Ssu Kyi or Havel. Yet Chen Show Mao has the same narsiccist Maoist self-infatuation to call himself “魏徵” without doing any thing that is even remotely 魏徵esque.

This so-called “caring” wayang is just another cheapo blatant attempt for Mao Mao to develop and inflate his Maoist personality cult among his zombie Blue Guards.

Kudos to Mr CSM for fulfilling the role of a town councilor. But how about of a parliamentarian?

.....

With so much money (a multi-millionaire with a wide network of corporate contact) and so much time (a jobless LOBO shunned out of any responsibility in the party and town council as well as hardly spending any time speaking up for the people in Parliament), any Dick, Tom or Hairy could be as “caring” or even more “caring” than Mao Mao.

In fact, one has to wonder why Mao Mao is Showing so little 毛毛 “caring” despite his enormous wealth and working a very meagre 2-3 hour a week at MPS. Where on earth is he idling with all those spare time?

This WP’s self-anointed “魏徵” is so much different from the historical 魏徵. The historical 魏徵 was never notorious as Mao Mao in obsessing with this kind of cheapo Maoist publicity stunt. Instead of wayang around 作秀、ShowMaoship、表演 for the circus mobs, the historical 魏徵 dedicated his time speaking up for the people fearlessly and relentlessly which is so unlike Mao Mao.

It’s one thing to critiscise the boss of the other party so that they don’t make mistake. It’s another thing for secretly trying to upstage the boss of your own party in pursuit of personal fame and glory.

Perhaps, “台灣之子” Chen Show 毛 is picking up too many tricks from his former fellow countryman, also another top student, top scholar, top lawyer, top celebrity-politician, who also loves to wayang around作秀、ShowMaoship、表演 with wheelchair to solicit votes…..

[h=1]20.09.2012 - Serangoon Division Rice Distribution[/h]
At 10.30am, we started transporting the rice from the store to the event location at Blk 146 Serangoon North Avenue 1. The 25kg packs of rice were particular heavy. There must had been at least 20 packs of them. However, this did not deter us from our purpose in mind, that is, to distribute the rice to residents. Over at the event location, another group of volunteers had set up the place, turning the void deck into a temporary "rice packaging factory".

From 11.30am, the 25kg packs of rice were re-packed into smaller bags of 1kg and sealed. This went on for 4 hours. Residents started streaming in, even before the event start time of 3pm. Member of Parliament for Aljunied GRC, Ms Sylvia Lim, immediately got into action the moment she arrived and distributed the packets of rice to the residents. It was another 3 hours before the few hundred packets of rice were all distributed.

Seeing the smiles and the acknowledgement from the residents, we knew that all our hardwork was well worth it. And of course, we have to thank our kind donors who contributed the rice. - Hong Boon
