ALOR STAR: A 49-year-old used-clothing trader pleaded not guilty in the Sessions Court here today to a charge of committing incest against his 18-year-old daughter.
The accused, who has five children, entered the plea when the charge was read to him before judge Priscilla Hemamalini Nadarajan.
According to the charge, he is alleged to have committed the act at their home in Kubang Pasu at 9am on Oct 30.
Deputy public prosecutor Nurfatin Mastura Asri is prosecuting the case under Section 376B(1) of the Penal Code, which carries a sentence of between 10 and 30 years' imprisonment and whipping upon conviction.
The court denied bail and set the next mention for Dec 8.
