A 12-year-old recently ended his life in yet another potentially avoidable suicide.

My deep condolences to the parents of the kids....bringing up a child is no easy task...the commitment to bring forth one into this World, the dedication, the pain, hopes and dreams, and so much more....and to loose one.....There can be no words that the insignificant me can ever console the parents, loved ones, relatives and friends...except that the child is in far far more better place than here now in this troubled World....
It is only comprehensible that EVERY mother and father would want the best for their beloved child, but kids do have a mind of their own, learnt from parents during their formative years, and far more intelligent than one realizes...The days of 'Do what you are supposed to do, and do NOT do what I do' had been proven wrong in educating kids....
Parents, relatives, friends, peers, and especially the new trend of social media, is how the kid would see, learn and develop their World views in their environments, even if it is truly just from a frog trapped in a well, and limited.
Thus EVERYONE in our society needs to ensure that EACH child have a better view than from the depths of a well. Kids are the future of Humankind. and needs patience, time and more to be groomed to fulfil their potential, to contribute to themselves, their loved ones, family, relatives, friends and society....
There may be some kids whom SEEMED to be wayward, but it is only a journey to DISCOVER oneself. Longings and Desires are only natural in Human Beings, even kids.
ULTIMATELY, each Human regardless of adult or kid will realize the errors of their ways or what they desired for is not what they really wanted, and would naturally seek their true path to progress and evolve, ESPECIALLY to parents TO have a listening and understanding ear to their concerns and the RIGHT motivations or leeways so long as what the kid wants does not hurt or harm others, to lead them to success....the last bastion that the child can turn to, for trust, understanding, love, care, concern, solace and never be left to be felt alone or abandoned...
The greatest mistake a Human can make is to make NO mistakes, which is impossible as NO mortal is perfect. It is ONLY THRU mistakes that one realizes errors, and secondly, to CORRECT such errors to evolve... Failures are nothing, but only a stepping stone to later and better success.
Only those whom presume themselves as perfect or made no mistakes are a worry and concern, as when such happens, how they deal with it would be an unknown, more so in adult life.....whereby when weaknesses surfaced, often too late to be helped - either to blame others, to harm, hurt or kill others, or to kill oneself......

Not all parents raise their children in the same way, which can result in varying approaches to teaching. Some may instill a sense of urgency, emphasizing the importance of doing well or facing dire consequences, while others may take a more patient and supportive approach, guiding their child through the learning process with time and effort.

Though tragic, all these young teen suicide cases more than meets the eye lah. Whether fail PSLE or do poorly can always retake or go ITE, which is still not the end of the world, so it's totally illogical for them to commit suicide.
Hence I believe 99.9% all have some form of mental problems, whether autism, ADHD and all kinds of ranjiao behavioral disorders which commonly makes bringing up them extremely difficult. So in a way for them to go early could actually be a form of blessing in disguise as they are finally being released from their internal agony.
Else if the main reason for ending life is just due to stress from exam failure, then all Ah Beng Ah Lians would have committed suicide a long time ago LOL.

Regardless of those whom are born with defects, which under current scientific advancement discoveries that can find out such, a child is born out of love and commitment between a husband and wife, and it is often TRUE LOVE that a couple will uphold, come what may, to see the child born and grow up into this World...
..and as a SOCIETY and CIVILIZATION, WE will support them in every way we can, thru our ELECTED Legislators in Parliament, and proven which saw passage ways constructed for the disabled, education to Teachers at schools and Employers to give opportunities to those whom have birth defects for jobs that matches with their abilities to progress or at least sustain their operations, and much, much more....
This is Singapore and WE will leave NONE behind, unless they choose to, to uplift lives and help parents and kids whom may not be as agile as other kids.....
However, the insignificant nobody me DO thank and praise you for your last sentence about our fellow citizens, often denigrated, by locals and foreign snobs - our very own Ah Bengs or Ah Lians. It shows that even you would acknowledge the MENTAL STRENGTHS of them, to chose to persevere even under the dire circumstances that other weak and uncared for kids, or even from the elites, to prove just HOW MENTALLY STRONG they are to survive...to grow, to learn at later stages, made mistakes but correct them, to progress, to hurt or harm none, to provide for their loved ones and contribute to our Nation.....
They are us......

It's the saddest music that the insignificant nobody me can find...It's about loss...the loss of a way of life...on many levels of perception, and a time for quiet contemplation and reflection...to find a small measure of peace..a quantum of solace..to a mind in pain.....

How do you know it's almost rare or never? Just because media doesn't always report such cases doesn't mean they are rare.
