已至耄耋之年的黄旭华，至今还没退休。他仍旧坚持周一至周五每天工作半天，上午8点半准时到办公室。他说，自己要做年轻人的“啦啦队”，为他们加油鼓劲，必要时出个点子。什么时候退休不知道，身体还可以干几年。
除了每天坚持工作，黄旭华还抽空作客央视《开讲啦》节目，为年轻的小伙伴们讲述当年的峥嵘岁月。前不久，老人还刚刚荣获2017年度何梁何利基金最高奖——“科学与技术成就奖”。
尽管如今收获了诸多荣誉，但在黄旭华的一生中，有长达30年的时光一直都是隐姓埋名，默默奋斗，甚至连家人都不知道他在做些什么。
这段故事就要从很多年前说起。
经历过抗日战争时期的黄旭华，面对当时落后贫穷的祖国，立下志愿，要科技救国。从上海交大造船系毕业后，他就开启了与潜艇一生的缘分。
1954年，美国“鹦鹉螺号”核潜艇首次试航，这种新武器的巨大能量，一度超出了当时人们的想象。4年后，我国也启动研制导弹核潜艇。曾参与仿制苏式常规潜艇的黄旭华，被选中参加研究。
研究开始不久，苏联宣布撤回援华专家。毛主席说出了让黄旭华等老一辈科研工作者心潮澎湃的一句话：“核潜艇，一万年也要造出来！”
为了这句嘱托，黄旭华全情投入到核潜艇的研制工作当中，整整30年没有回过家。在当时，黄旭华和同事们，连核潜艇的样子都没有见过，工作难度可想而知。
当时世界上最先进的核潜艇外型是水滴型，因为摩擦阻力小，水下机动性和稳定性好。美国在研制中谨慎地选择了三步走，先采用适合水面航行为主的普通线型，再建造一艘常规动力水滴线型潜艇，都成功后，才结合研制成水滴型核潜艇。
而黄旭华认为时间紧迫，在与同事商定后，毅然决定将三步并作一步，直接瞄准适合水下高速航行的水滴型方案。
“当时连基本的研制条件都不具备，就开始干了。”黄旭华回忆说。他和同事们大海捞针一般从国外新闻报道中搜罗有关核潜艇的只言片语，用算盘和计算尺计算核潜艇上的大量数据。为保证计算准确，科研人员分为几组分别计算，结果不同就重来，直到得出一致数据。
中船重工集团公司首席技术专家张锦岚，曾于1988年跟随黄旭华参与核潜艇深潜试验。他对用算盘计算核潜艇数据感到不可思议：“这可不是简单的加减乘除，而是要运用三角函数、对数等各种复杂和高难度的运算公式和模型。”
但在一穷二白的年代，黄旭华和同事们正是用这种土办法，解决了许多尖端技术问题。
一次，有人从国外带回两个美国华盛顿号核潜艇模型玩具，黄旭华喜出望外。掀开玩具窗户，里面密密麻麻的“设备”，竟和他们一半靠零散资料一半靠想象画出的图纸基本一样。“我们拆解分装了一次又一次，发现跟我们推演出的设计图基本一致。大家高兴坏了！”
只用了十年，黄旭华和同事们就成功了。1970年12月26日，中国海军第一艘核潜艇——091型攻击核潜艇下水，4年后的建军节，它被命名为“长征1号”，正式服役。至此，中国成为第五个拥有核潜艇的国家。
但黄旭华创造奇迹的脚步并没有停止。后来，我国在南海进行核潜艇设计极限深潜试验。当时已经60多岁的他，坚持亲自下潜至极限深度，指挥试验人员记录各项有关数据，成为世界上核潜艇总设计师下水做深潜试验第一人。
在黄旭华奋力拼搏的岁月里，他的家人并不知道他在做些什么。1988年，黄旭华终于回到离别30年的家。父亲、兄长已经去世，他和90多岁的母亲重逢，想着上次见面时母亲“常回来看看”的叮嘱，他无语凝噎。
“我欠我的父亲母亲，欠我的兄弟姐妹，欠我的夫人，欠我的小孩，我的情债欠得太多太多了，但没有一个人埋怨我，我很感谢他们。”
2013年，黄旭华被评为“感动中国”十大人物，颁奖词是这样写的：时代到处是惊叹骇浪，你埋下头，甘心做沉默的砥柱；一穷二白的年代，你挺起胸，成为国家最大的财富。你的人生，正如深海中的潜艇，无声，但有无穷的力量。

只用了十年，黄旭华和同事们就成功了。1970年12月26日，中国海军第一艘核潜艇——091型攻击核潜艇下水，4年后的建军节，它被命名为“长征1号”，正式服役。至此，中国成为第五个拥有核潜艇的国家。
但黄旭华创造奇迹的脚步并没有停止。后来，我国在南海进行核潜艇设计极限深潜试验。当时已经60多岁的他，坚持亲自下潜至极限深度，指挥试验人员记录各项有关数据，成为世界上核潜艇总设计师下水做深潜试验第一人。

Huang Xuhua, who had experienced the period of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, was determined to save the country through science and technology in the face of the backward and poor motherland. After graduating from the Shanghai Jiao Tong University Shipbuilding Department, he began his life with the submarine.
In 1954, the US Nautilus nuclear submarine was put into trial operation for the first time. The huge energy of this new weapon surpassed people's imagination at the time. Four years later, China also started to develop missile-launched nuclear submarines. Huang Xuhua, who had participated in the imitation of Soviet-style conventional submarines, was selected to participate in the study.
Shortly after the study began, the Soviet Union announced the withdrawal of experts in aid to China. Chairman Mao said a sentence that made Huang Xuhua and other older generation of scientific research workers feel like a wave: "Nuclear submarines must be created in 10,000 years!"
For this reason, Huang Xuhua devoted himself to the development of nuclear submarines, and has not returned home for 30 years. At that time, Huang Xuhua and his colleagues, even the appearance of nuclear submarines have not been seen, the difficulty of work can be imagined.
At that time, the most advanced nuclear submarine in the world was a water droplet type because of its low frictional resistance and good underwater maneuverability and stability. The United States carefully selected three steps in the development, first adopting a common line type suitable for surface navigation, and then constructing a conventional power drop line type submarine. After successful, it was combined into a water droplet type nuclear submarine.
Huang Xuhua believes that time is tight. After agreeing with colleagues, he decided to take three steps and take one step directly to directly target the water-dropping scheme suitable for underwater high-speed navigation.
"At the time, even the basic development conditions were not available, and they began to work." Huang Xuhua recalled. He and his colleagues in a haystack generally collect a few words about nuclear submarines from foreign news reports, and use abacus and slide rule to calculate a large amount of data on nuclear submarines. In order to ensure accurate calculations, the researchers are divided into several groups to calculate separately, and the results are different until they reach consistent data.
Zhang Jinyu, chief technical expert of CSIC Group, followed Huang Xuhua in 1988 to participate in the deep submarine test of nuclear submarines. He is incredible about using abacus to calculate nuclear submarine data: "This is not a simple addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, but the use of trigonometric functions, logarithms and other complex and difficult calculation formulas and models."
However, in the era of poor and white, Huang Xuhua and his colleagues used this soil method to solve many cutting-edge technical problems.
Once, someone brought back two US Washington nuclear submarine model toys from abroad, and Huang Xuhua was overjoyed. Open the toy window, the densely packed "equipment" is basically the same as the ones that are half of them relying on the imaginary drawings. “We disassembled and disassembled it again and again, and found that the design drawings that we performed were basically the same. Everyone was happy!”
It took only ten years for Huang Xuhua and his colleagues to succeed. On December 26, 1970, the Chinese Navy's first nuclear submarine, the Type 091 attack nuclear submarine, was launched. Four years later, the Army Day, which was named "Long March 1", was officially commissioned. So far, China has become the fifth country to have a nuclear submarine.
But Huang Xuhua’s footsteps in creating miracles have not stopped. Later, China conducted a nuclear deep submarine design extreme deep-dive test in the South China Sea. At that time, he was already in his 60s, insisting on personal dive to the extreme depth, commanding testers to record all relevant data, and became the first person in the world to be the chief designer of nuclear submarines.
In the years when Huang Xuhua struggled, his family did not know what he was doing. In 1988, Huang Xuhua finally returned to his home for 30 years. The father and the elder brother have passed away. He and his 90-year-old mother reunited, thinking of the embarrassment that his mother used to “look back and see” when he last met. He was speechless.
