Hong Kong developer Cheung Kong has spared no expense with the 15,000 sqft showflat for their Thomson Grand condo project.
To entice buyers, the developer dressed up the showflat with more than 100,000 Swarovski crystals – some for its main chandelier in the main gallery and others for the mini-chandeliers in the toilets.
The 4 by 8 metre curtains cost $40,000 and were imported from Europe.
How much did it cost to put it all together? About $8 million.

Freaking crazy. $1500 psf for a 99 year property at Thomson. I can imagine how hard these buggers lobby with the PAP to keep their bubble building policies. I told the sales for S$1200 psf, i can get a FH seaview condo at Meyer Road, even in the present crazy market. Love going around bruising their ego.

Errr... the showflats are quite obiang actually... especially the super cheena bathroom mirrors. The interiors of the showflats reflect the chinaman in Li Kashing.

In this case it is the developer who spent the 8m, you might have missed the wordings. It is the cost of the crystal decked showflats.
But there are 8m apts like four seasons, ardmore park, etc. for those who have 8m as spare change.

The $8m show flat is just for show. The only thing exclusive is the private lift lobby. The project doesn't even have a tennis court i.e not full facilities and it is located next to a Chinese temple.

If have $8m, just need to put into fixed deposit and enough to live a good life already. Malaysia FD 12 month rate is 3.3 percent. Australia FD of course even higher.

Not much view. This price is for the 2 BR stack near the corner of the "L" shape hence very restricted view... further more you need to be at least 10th floor above to have a decent view. Good view ones are mostly $1500 psf
