SINGAPORE - Drugs with an estimated value of $87,000 were seized from a Malaysian motorcyclist at Woodlands Checkpoint on Saturday morning.

In total, Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) officers seized drugs consisting of 745 grams of heroin and 279 grams of cannabis from the 19-year-old man.

CNB officers had spotted a missing screw on the fuel tank of the motorcycle during a search at the checkpoint. 745 grammes of heroin was found in two black bundles hidden under the fuel tank, while 279 grammes of cannabis was found in a third bundle.

The man was arrested on the spot.

He is now under investigations for suspected drug importation, and if convicted, may face the death penalty.

lianbeng has a suggestion to deter those who wana try n test Singapore Law against drug trafficking! :D put a noose at every checkpoint: woodland, tuas, changi airport, harbourfront, etc... and immediately hang those caught with 15g or more of heroin and publicly display them at those checkpoints!

Bro lianbeng some ppl got no choice but to choose this path:D
