According to an MOM survey, 8 out of every 10 foreign workers here said that they would recommend Singapore to their friends and relatives as a good place to work.

This is better than the sentiments held three years ago when only 7 in 10 responded that they would recommend Singapore to their friends and families.

The survey took responses from work permit and S pass holders who are working in Singapore.

The main reason cited for wanting to recommend Singapore as a work place was the good pay. 67% of respondents cited this as a positive reason.

It was also found that only 45% said they would recommend Singapore because of good working conditions and only 35% thought there were good living conditions here.
It would seem that despite the government's constant insistence that foreign workers are happy with their work and living conditions, FWs here are actually just here for the money and do not, in general, feel that they have good working and living conditions.

Of the 20% of respondents who said that they wouldn't recommend Singapore as a workplace for their friends and family they cited reasons such as high agency fees, low pay and poor working conditions.

Apparently, while most foreigners are seeing decent pay, there continues to be some foreign workers who are exploited by their employers and are paid miserably.
Generally, the conditions for foreign workers here has been improving with more respondents saying that they are satisfied with work in Singapore.
The number of workers who said that they are unhappy working here also decreased from 3 years ago.

Foreign workers on work permits and S-passes make up about 1.15 million people and a fifth of Singapore's population.

The majority of these workers are in the construction sector and come from India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.

I have a great idea why not streamline the whole process & let the workers submit the names of their friends who want to work in Spore. Then they can cut all the middlemen & their fees. I would like to see what happens:biggrin:

When the AEC becomes effective next year, about 200% foreign workers, especially Asean PMETS, will want to work here.

Thinks are getting so exciting, don't you think so?

without getting rid of PAP you will not see the dirty works of PAP.

1. They are the government ands PAP is the government.

2. They are the main building contractors and developers for the government projects.

3. Sub contractors must be are PA CCC porlumpar members to get contracts and PA is from PMO office.

4. Their GLCs are the recruitment agencies.

S$ goes from one pocket to the other circulating within PAP.

Singaporeans have allowed Leegime to create a monster which is hard to be removed. A sad day for Singapore.

Migrate if you can.

each bangla pay $10k to work here.

$4k go to banglaland agent.
$3k go to spore agent.
$3k go to bangla's towkay or hiring manager.

extension of contract another $5k.
$3k to spore agent
$2k to bangla's towkay or hiring manager.

with so much tax free $$ floating around, nobody want to hire local.

this info was given to us during Die Dee session during ICT by a fellow reservist who run a cleaning company. he boast his new Volvo downpayment came from this arrangement. that was ard 10yrs ago.
