A 17-year-old male teen met an 18-year-old female teen at a club and the pair took a taxi to Fort Canning Park to make out.
The meet-up on Oct. 31, 2021 culminated in the woman being raped, 8world reported.
The man, now 21, was on Jun. 23 sentenced to six years' jail and four strokes of the cane.
In addition, he was fined S$1,000 for criminal intimidation in another case involving another person.
The accused cannot be identified as he was 17 years old at the time of the offence.
He is appealing the rape conviction and is out on a S$110,000 bail.
The accused and the victim proceeded to a dark spot in the park to kiss after arriving there.
It was not mentioned what happened to the victim's friend who was in the taxi.
The victim claimed that despite her objections, the accused subsequently penetrated her with his fingers and then forced her to give him oral sex.
He eventually raped her.
The victim said she had consented to kiss the accused and let him touch her breasts, but she did not consent to the other acts and tried to push him away.
However, as she was intoxicated, she could not resist his advances.
The woman said the accused used both of his hands to push her down to make her give him oral sex.
When he later penetrated her with a condom, he held on to her throat with one hand, which made it difficult for her to breathe or call for help.
She also said she had panicked at the time, but did not dare to call for help or run away.
It was only after leaving the scene that she found her friends and told them that she had been raped, and they immediately called the police.
She told the court she was traumatised after the incident and could not concentrate on her studies and flunked her freshman year and changed her major.
She also got drunk weekly as a result and eventually fell into depression and saw a psychiatrist.
He denied he had raped her.
He also said the condom that the police found near the scene was used when the woman gave him oral sex.
He added that after oral sex, both of them were not satisfied and wanted to do it again, but he was not able to sustain an erection, so he had to throw the condom away.
As for the accusation that he strangled the woman, he said it was just to increase the stimulation.
However, his testimony in court was deemed inconsistent with the statement he made after his arrest.
In his statement, he did not mention that he had asked the young woman for consent, but in court he said that he had asked.
In addition, he said in his statement that he pulled down his pants and put on a condom before letting the young woman give him oral sex.
But in court, he said the young woman gave him oral sex first, and then he remembered to put on a condom.
In April 2021, the defendant heard rumours that a 15-year-old student criticised his appearance, so he asked a friend to accompany him in a taxi to a MRT station near the student's school to wait for the victim to end classes.
The duo accosted the victim and asked him to apologise.
They then asked him to lick the defendant's shoes or they would beat him up.
The student relented and licked the shoes, and the two sides then went their separate ways.
After the incident, the student still saw messages from the defendant and his friends, and told his father what happened.
The father lodged a police report.
