The 56-year-old from Hubei province, China was enjoying his spa bath in a tub filled with live eels—they were supposed to nibble dead skin from his body—when he felt a sharp pain in his genitals. He looked down to see a small eel worming its way into the end of his penis into his urethra.

“I tried to hold it and take it out, but the eel was too slippery to be held and it disappeared up my penis," Zhang Nan told Metro UK.

After rushing himself to the hospital, he received a three-hour operation to remove the six-inch eel, which was dead by the time.

The Surgeon who operated on him, Jin Wang, told Metro UK that the eel's slippery body allowed it to make a smooth entry into Nan’s genitals.

"The diameter of the urethra in a man's penis is just a little narrower, but because eels are quite slippery, its body worked as a lubricant and so it got into the penis smoothly," he said.
