The young voters don't give a fuck about the PAP's former glory, the spouse of the civil servants would be pissed off by the fact that their counter-parts don't earn as much as an average sinkie ($5,900/month) and will vote the oppositions. The parents of the civil servants cannot get back their CPF and needs to collect cardboard boxes or in the KPT, who do you think they'll vote for?
RETIRED CIVIL SERVANT: IT IS UNFAIR TO ISSUE SG50 BONUS TO NON-SINGAPOREAN CIVIL SERVANTS!
Submitted by farhan on Fri, 19/06/2015 - 11:08pm
Dear editor
I refer to the recent news that all civil servants will get a sum of $500 as part of their bonus package as SG50 bonus.
This is unfair.
Has civil service forgotten about ex-civil servants who have served 20 -30 years previously? They have built and served Singapore, and most of them dont have pensions but yet they are now surviving on meagre livings, or either unemployed, or ended up as taxi drivers, security guards or some even wheelchair bound.
These people are real Singaporeanns who have worked and sacrificed for the nation! They deserve the $500!
Let me give you an analogy, in a 4 x 4 relay race, do you only reward the last lap runner or all 4 runners?
To add insult to former civil servants, there are thousands of foreigners in the public sector, notably within MOE. Do these foreigners deserve our SG50 $500 bonus?
If all Singapore's civil servants including those with fake qualifications are given the $500 SG50 bonus, shouldn't all Singaporeans be eligible for it as well?
