元旦入馬場人流挫七成

反修例衝突跨年未平息，元旦賽馬日丁財兩不旺。因訪港旅客銳減及港人外出意欲低，踏入二○二○年首個賽馬日的入場人次僅得二萬二千多人，比去年八萬四千人驟跌七成三，投注額由去年破紀錄的十七億一千五百萬元，減至十五億八千萬元，跌幅近百分之七點九。旅遊界立法會議員姚思榮認為，訪港旅客減少影響賽馬活動，寄望未來反修例衝擊事件緩和，訪港旅客在農曆新年期間重臨香港，繼續入場「馬照跑」。
馬會過往會大肆宣傳節日賽馬日，派發小禮物吸引馬迷及旅客進場，但去年十一月示威者堵路及破壞港鐵站，港鐵關閉馬場站，入場馬迷減半，馬會亦低調舉行賽事，昨日並無派禮物，最終入場人次僅錄得二萬二千六百三十人及投注額為十五億八千萬元，成績均遠低於去年。
場次縮 投注額降至15.8億
面對丁財兩不旺，馬會行政總裁應家柏解釋，因昨日場次由十一場減至十場，故投注額按年有所下跌，又指按目前社會環境安排十場日間賽事，約下午五時完場讓馬迷可較早離開，較為合適。
姚思榮指出，馬會近年積極向內地拓展本港賽馬活動，不少內地旅客入馬場消費，去年十一月訪港旅客按年減少五成六，對本港景點及賽馬活動一定有影響，入場人次會減少，加上港人擔心示威活動不到人多密集的地方，可能透過電話等方式買馬，故投注額無顯著減少。
旅客減 議員盼春節反彈
姚又指去年十一月區議會選舉後，反修例衝突活動有放緩的迹象，加上警方強硬止暴制亂，對社會穩定有幫助，但旅客對訪港仍有陰影，期望春節內地七天長假期，旅客會因本港酒店有五折或以上折扣優惠再度前來，令訪港旅客人數由谷底反彈。
此外，市民如未能從元旦賽馬日贏得橫財，或可考慮今晚攪珠的半億元新年金多寶。若以十元一注計算，估計頭獎幸運兒最高可獲五千萬元彩金。至昨午五時，投注額已超過三千九百九十三萬元。
