5 loan shark runners arrested over 2 days

The police have arrested five men, believed to be loan shark runners, in four separate incidents.

Over Tuesday and Monday, they arrested these men in areas like Hougang, Yishun and Pasir Ris.

At about 3am on Tuesday morning, two men aged 46 and 51 years were arrested for their suspected involvement in loansharking activities in Hougant.

Several ATM cards, bank account books, bank transaction receipts and handphones containing debtors' records were found on them.

They are believed to have assisted loansharks in their businesses by performing fund transfers.
