SINGAPORE - Police have arrested a 46-year-old man who is believed to be involved in a housebreaking case at Stirling Road.

At about 3pm on Oct 3, officers from Clementi Police Division attended to the crime scene.

Two laptops, a mobile phone and about $900 worth of cash were reportedly stolen from the unit.

Through follow up investigations, police managed to establish the identity of the suspect and arrested him on Oct 7 at about 5.30pm.

Preliminary investigations indicated that the suspect had gained entry into the unit by extending his hand through the common corridor window and unlocked the main gate from the inside.

The stolen laptops and mobile phone were also recovered by the police.

The suspect will be charged in court on Oct 9 for the offence of housebreaking and theft by night under Section 457 of the penal code, which carries an imprisonment term of up to 14 years.
