The number of locals detained for illegally breaking into the headquarters of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) Garrison in Hong Kong has risen to four after local police detained two people late Wednesday.
A 29-year-old woman surnamed Xie and a 15-year-old boy surnamed Chen were detained at 19:00 Wednesday, HK police announced Wednesday evening.
Earlier on Wednesday, the police detained two men, aged 28 and 40, for the same offence. They were released on bail and are required to return to the Hong Kong police department late January for further investigation.
The four detainees were among several local residents who forced their way into the PLA Garrison headquarters at Hong Kong Central, despite warnings from a guard on duty.
The police said the detainee’s actions violated the Public Order Ordinance of Hong Kong, which prohibits entry into the PLA Garrison’s barracks without permission.
