Six bus passengers were injured after a Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) vehicle collided with an SMRT bus along Mandai Avenue on Monday.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force said it dispatched three ambulances to the scene and conveyed five casualties to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital after it was alerted to the accident at 2.54pm.
Meanwhile, SMRT's vice-president of corporate information and communications said in a statement: "We are in touch with the six injured passengers to provide assistance as best we can."
The Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) also said in a statement on Tuesday that the SAF vehicle involved in the accident had been carrying a foldable longspan bridge, which is used to form a wide roadway for military vehicles and troops to move over obstacles.
The defence ministry said that safety is its top priority and that military vehicles follow the Land Transport Authority's (LTA) guidelines on public roads use and travel only on routes approved by the authorities.
MINDEF and SAF added that they are currently investigating the incident.
