Robberies along Upper Jurong Road
Police are investigating two robberies which happened along Upper Jurong Road which they believed to be related in the past week.
One of the victim was an Indian man in his early 30s.
He had been walking back to his dormitory when the incident happened five days ago.
Media Relations Officer Inspector Ivan Choo with the details.
"Four suspects who were on bicycles stopped in front of him and surrounded him. They assaulted him, and when he was trying to run away, another three suspects came from behind and blocked his way. They fled after obtaining the stolen items."
The victim lost S$85, $500 worth of Indian Rupees, his handphone and personal documents.
Another robbery had also occurred along Upper Jurong Road the day before that.
The victims were two Bangladeshi men in their mid 20s.
They were confronted and attacked by nine suspects who fled after stealing the victims' wallets.
Suspects in both cases were described to be men aged 16 to 20, wearing shorts and pyjamas.
