There was this same unfounded fear in Malaysia several years ago when Muslims wanted to ban Christians from using the term "Allah" to describe their God. This was ridiculous since Christianity was founded more than 600 years before Islam, and Christians in the Middle East referred to their God as Allah. Malaysian Muslims claimed that this would cause confusion i.e. Muslims walking past a church may hear Allah in the sermon, enter the church thinking it is a mosque and end up being converted to Christianity!
