Three people in their twenties have been fined a total of $28,000 for purchasing and selling vaporisers illegally in Singapore.

The Health Sciences Authority (HSA) said in a statement on Wednesday (July 13) that Charles Ng Teng Pei, 27, Koh Wei Hong, 29, Teo Yi Lin, 23, sold vaporisers on various social media and e-commerce platforms to 23 buyers.

Numerous vaporisers with a total estimated worth of $10,000 were seized from the peddlers' residences.

Ng was fined $7,500, while Koh was fined $16,500. Teo was fined $4,500.

Vaporisers, which include e-cigarettes, e-pipes and e-cigars, are banned in Singapore. Individuals convicted of being in possession of vaporisers can be fined up to $5,000 for the first offence, or up to $10,000 for the second or subsequent offence.
