Nominations have closed for the Sungai Kandis by-election, with the returning officer announcing that the state seat will be contested by Pakatan Harapan's Mohd Zawawi Ahmad Mughni, BN's Lokman Noor Adam, and independent Murthy Krishnasamy.
Zawawi, a religious teacher, is PKR's religious understanding and consolidation bureau secretary Mohd Ahmad Mughni, while Lokman sits on the Umno supreme council.
Both candidates entered the Shah Alam City Council Tanjung Hall to file their nomination papers, shortly after returning officer Ahmad Zaharin Mohd Saad's announcement that the nomination process would be open for an hour...

SG KANDIS POLLS | Although the nomination process proceeded smoothly for the Sungai Kandis by-election candidates, the situation outside was considerably more electric as supporters traded barbs.
Almost immediately after the candidates entered the Shah Alam City Council hall to file their papers, Pakatan Harapan supporters, who had been gathering as early as 8am, began hurling insults at their BN counterpartys.
Shouts of “robbers,’ “thieves” and “rogues” rang out from the Harapan camp...
