3.5 magnitude earthquake hits Batu Pahat waters​

JOHOR BAHRU — A weak earthquake measuring 3.5 on the Richter scale struck off the waters of Batu Pahat at 9.04 am today, according to the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia).

It said in a Facebook post that the epicentre was at 1.7°N, 103.1°E, 25 kilometres southeast of Batu Pahat, at a depth of 10 kilometres.

“Tremors may have been felt in the Batu Pahat area, and MetMalaysia will continue to monitor the situation,” it said. — BERNAMA

I don't go that far. I was at Pavilion just now. My maiden trip. KNN, Orchard Road no fight.​

A few days ago when I was at Hat Yai, I sat at KFC for half a day observing the business. The restaurant opens at 9.00 in the morning, and I would often step in at 9.00 am sharp or slightly earlier. The counter girls were already busy pacing up and down between counter and kitchen. But there was not a single customer except me. I soon realized they were preparing food for Grab orders. A gentleman even drove a van to pick up boxes and boxes of fried chicken. He was there for almost half an hour, so you could imagine the number of boxes chicken that were prepared. Everybody was busy because of chicken, and because of chicken everybody has a job, and everybody can feed the family. By noon the kids began to trickle in, and every child wore a big smile on their faces. I suddenly realized 鸡真是伟大 ！

I used to feel uncomfortable when someone compared my mother with chicken. But now I'm proud to be the son of a chicken mother.​
