Muhammad Syakir Bin Rosley, a 27-year-old IT professional, was involved in a fatal collision with a van at approximately 2:45 pm on 14 May 2025.

The accident happened at the junction of Sembawang Road and Lorong Chencharu, less than five minutes into his journey.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), which received the alert at about 2:30 pm, conveyed the motorcyclist to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital in an unconscious state.

Syakir later succumbed to his injuries.

Family Appeals for Witnesses to Fatal Sembawang Road Accident

Woo told Shin Min Daily News that Syakir was on his way to visit his father’s grave when the accident occurred.

His father had passed away five years ago, and Syakir would visit the grave whenever he missed him.

Photos shared by Woo on Facebook showed Syakir’s motorcycle lying on its side, with debris including his helmet scattered across the road.

The van had crashed into a barrier at the roadside, with visible damage to its front section.

Syakir had been using the Life360 location-sharing app, which alerted a friend about the accident when it detected that Syakir’s location had not changed for some time.

The friend rushed to the scene and found Syakir in poor condition before informing Woo, who headed to the hospital with Syakir’s family.

Syakir was buried the day after the accident.

The family is now appealing for witnesses to come forward with information that could help with police investigations.
