during the cny, queenstown spent about $200k for a lavish 10-course dinner for 3000 senior residents livng there. grotesquely, the unit figure spent on each was $66.66 (200k divided by 3k) which was also the percentage win of pap during the last GE.
was the money spent worth it? or was there a better way to distribute such money like in the form of bigger red packets to every senior citizens which imho could have helped them better?
perhaps it was meant for a joyous occasion that baey yam keng wanted to share with the senior residents or perhaps it was another pap's drama for a positive "compassionate and generous" image smoke out. whatever it was, got a weird feeling why was it held only this year which co-incides with the imminent GE.
pap has done alot of PR activities to secure more votes while opps only rant and complain against gov policies but not showing much practicality done to at least help or alleviate some voters' problems.
it would be difficult for the opps to have done whatever pap has been doing due to lack of resources, manpower and personal commitment. and if voters feel that opps should be fairly given a chance to prove themselves, then the pap should be sporting enough to play a bit fairer - stop the gerrymeandering! stop sneering at the opps!! stop contradicting against your own pap's talking cock!!
STOP! PLAY FAIR!!
pap has already have the upperhand. it's time u start behaving GRACIOUSLY like what goh chok tong said but lack in practising it.
STOP BEING HYPOCRITE!!

We had to spend almost $200k for the whole event: red packets, medallions, food, tentage etc. The government has a fund to contribute part of the budget but bulk of the money was raised by my grassroots leaders. As a token of appreciation, I presented my calligraphy pieces to donors who contributed more than $10k. Glad you like the event. I hope to do it every year and produce the whole series of medallions in the 12 zodiac animals. "
