200 fake beggars found in Shanghai subway

China Daily, October 28, 2013

Shanghai police said in a public notice that so far this year, about 200 fake beggars pretending to be handicapped or destitute have been found in the subway.

Over 20 of them have been taken into custody on more than 100 occasions, later returning to their old trade. Most of the fake beggars earn over 10,000 yuan ($1,644) monthly.
