20 Vietnamese hostesses were caught naked during a police raid in Joo Chiat last night.

Police arrested 20 naked Vietnamese hostesses during a raid last night. The hostesses were serving customers naked in a lounge in Joo Chiat.

The raid occurred at 8.50pm last night. When reporters rushed down to the scene, the police had already arrested the Vietnamese girls and asked their customers to leave.

Some customers said that plainclothes policemen had visited the bar when they saw the hostesses fully naked and having sex with customers.

The policemen told them to put their clothes on before hauling them away for interrogation.

20 Viet women arrested in vice raid

TWENTY Vietnamese women - some of whom were found having sex with customers - were arrested during a vice raid at a KTV pub in Joo Chiat on Wednesday.

Policemen in plainclothes entered the pub at around 9pm and found the women, aged 19 to 34, in various stages of undress, Chinese evening newspaper Lianhe Wanbao reported.

It added that the women, who were arrested for vice and immigration-related offences, were taken away in a police van.

According to customers at the pub, this is the second time that police have conducted a raid there. Police investigations are ongoing.

Last month, 12 Vietnamese women, aged between 17 and 26, were arrested at another pub in Joo Chiat for vice-related activities.

In 2009, the police made 7,614 arrests of foreign women suspected of involvement in vice-related activities - up from 5,047 in 2008.
