The police arrested two men aged 23 and 38 for suspected involvement in loansharking activities.
The police received a report on Sept 22 regarding a case of loanshark harassment at Pasir Ris Street 72 and subsequently conducted investigations.
Officers from the Bedok Division established the identities of the two suspects and arrested them along Anchorvale Road on Oct 6.
They also seized two mobile phones containing suspected debtor records as well as two markers as case exhibits.
Preliminary investigations revealed that both suspects carried out several acts of harassment in the Pasir Ris, Woodlands and Ang Mo Kio housing estates by splashing debtors' units and letterboxes with paint, and defacing walls with loanshark-related graffiti.
If found guilty, first time offenders may be fined between $5,000 and $50,000, jailed for up to five years and be liable to up to six strokes of caning.
