TWO men were charged in a district court on Friday with conspiracy to cheat in an accident claim. Andy Ong Thiam Chuan, 32, a supervisor, and Charlie Ong Han Wee, 31, allegedly conspired with one Tay Kok Leong by stating a false witness and accident details in a claim to induce AIG Insurance to pay out the insurance claim to them.
Charlie Ong faces a second charge of abetting Tay to give false information to a police officer as to how he was involved in an accident on Central Expressway, and that he had a witness called Andy Ong for the accident which he knew to be false. The alleged offences took place in August 2007. Tay has not been charged yet. Both men were represented by lawyers. The cases were adjourned to June 24 for a pre-trial conference.
