2 arrested for loansharking activities

SINGAPORE - Two men aged 22, were arrested in for allegedly being involved in loansharking activities.
Police said in a statement that the men had carried out loanshark harassment at two units in Tampines by splashing paint and scrawling loanshark-related graffiti on the walls.
The police also confiscated harassment-related paraphernalia comprising 10 cans of paint, a marker, a pair of gloves, a screwdriver, a notebook and a mobile phone from the suspects.
First time offenders found guilty of loanshark harassment shall be punished with imprisonment for a term of up to 5 years, a fine between $5,000 and $50,000, and mandatory caning of up to 6 strokes.
