A Qantas jumbo jet bound for Brisbane is back in the air hours just after faulty landing gear forced it back to Singapore shortly after take-off.

Flight QF52 was carrying 360 passengers and crew when it departed Singapore's Changi Airport around 11pm local time on Friday (1am AEST on Saturday).

A Qantas spokeswoman said the pilots were unable to retract the landing gear of the Boeing 747-400, forcing the aeroplane to return to Singapore.

The aircraft landed less than an hour later without incident and no one was injured.

Passengers and crew were provided overnight accommodation while engineers replaced a faulty part that had led to the failure.

The same plane departed on Saturday at 12pm local time (2pm AEST) and was due to arrive in Brisbane late on Saturday evening.

yeah why not blame RR too?

What has it got to do with Changi?

Sinkies Local Trash blame everyone except themselves

That's why they are trashes.

It is one of the 3 hydraulic systems that had a problem and little to do with the line maintenance during pre-flight checks. One cannot blame Changi Airport crew as this aircraft just came out from base maintenance in Ozziland before this incident.

Makapa will tell you why. It is entire Changi Airport's engineering staff are all FTs essentially cheapest Pinoys. ;)

In the aviation sector there are always jobs available including pilots and flight crews. Whether there are enough trained Singaporeans is another factor we need to consider, Most Singaporeans after leaving the air force join the civil aircraft industry provided they have the relevant experience. I don't see any aircraft engineer or airline crew that is unable to get a job. There are more vacancies in this area than Singaporeans can satisfy, not the other way round. Therefore the companies need to get more trained and experienced foreigners to employ. Besides many of these jobs require OJT for a few years before being certified or have a license.

In short, no plumber can repair an aircraft toilet nor an electrican replace the wirings. One needs to have specialised training.

There are a lot of things happening within Qantas that you ought to know about. Basically, they are having such problems not only out of Singapore but in US and Europe, and maybe it could be between the management and labour that manifest the problems not only the aircraft but operations as well.

And so must give these jobs to FT Pinoys instead of Singaporean citizens / voters? :*:
Very good writing but rubbish!:D typical PAP scholar!

As much as you do, I despised the idea of FTs out numbered our countrymen.
I believe every individual airline has their own certified maintenance crew.

As such, this thread is off the beat (misleading).
Perhaps, it can be touched on a relevant thread.
He..he..Just my 2 cow cents worth.
cheers

And they are compliant to ALL FAA & Insurance Standards & ISO9000 & ISO14000 and whole lot of Bull Shit. And so is SQ006. How is it supposed to fuck into the closed runway?

All the BS are full of loopholes and non-compliances and OUT-SOURCED etc.

Don't try to use BS to cover BS. Don't work!;)

We can all see so many Civil Aviation Emergencies at Changi Airport, NOT KLIA! NOT Jakata Airport! Not Beijing! Not HK! Not NY! Not even India!

Uniquely SPG!

Does that mean that in all the other cities airports their safety certifications are real and in CIAS it is BS Uniquely SG!

Changi Airport is MOST DANGEROUS to fly from! Period. And ALL their Reputations Are FALSE!
