A man who was apparently the victim in a gang assault case involving 14 Chinese nationals, relates how he was set upon by 20 people, who punched and kicked him and called him a pig.
According to a report in The New Paper (Sep 2), Mr Wang was beaten up by a gang of 14 male Chinese national singers on Wednesday, Sept 1.
There was an alleged disagreement between the victim and the female boss of the lounge where the singers worked.
The incident took place at about 3am on the premises of Melody Valley Music Lounge at Balmoral Plaza.
The victim is the co-owner of another branch of the lounge (Melody Valley 2).
One of the female bosses of the lounge claimed that Mr Wang had hit her.
The 14 male singers then launched an attack on Mr Wang, and even hit him with a barstool at one point.
The male singers were subsequently arrested for rioting, while Mr Wang was taken to the hospital.
The newspaper report says that the "male singers were very confident and that with their bosses support, they would be fine."
The alleged victim said in an email:
"14 China male singers were arrested over an attack on three men, over failed contract negotiations and payment at Melody Valley 1 at Balmoral Plaza.
"About 20 people were punching and stomping on the victim.
"They even said, no matter what happened, the lady boss would settle the problem through 'connections'."
