A 10-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of indecently assaulting a flight attendant.
The boy, described by police as South Asian, was in school uniform when the alleged incident took place in the Tung Chung MTR station on Tuesday, according to Headline Daily.
Police said the boy pinched the woman’s bottom as they rode an escalator.
The boy merely giggled when he was asked by the stewardess what he was doing, they said.
The woman recorded the incident on her smartphone and posted the clip online later that day
Also, she warned other women in the station about the boy.
Police picked him up from his flat in Hing Tung Street and released him on bail. He will report back to the station later this month.
Senior barrister Albert Luk said children under 10 cannot be charged with a criminal offence.
Older offenders up to 16 can be tried in juvenile court, he said.
Luk said indecent assault is a not considered a serious offense but the boy should at least receive a warning from the police or made to undergo counselling.
