It's amazing to see that with some digging up, you can find out that the fight for cleaners' wages has been happening for 10 years or so and now progressive wage model will be put into place!

It started out from NTUC and NEA as reported here in the PDF below!
And now it will become a reality come September and cleaners will receive a progressive form of minimum wage!
What a victory! So happy for the old aunties and uncles who will benefit from this!

Govt fucked up by outsourcing resulting in lowest quote get the job BUT the company getting the job re hired the same crew cutting salaries oby half in order to survive and make pocket money form the tender. So govt is solely responsible for the sufferings cleaners gone thru
Now govt play hero in increasing their wages............ shud they be gratefuly????

But it's best sourcing now, not cheapest sourcing. the progressive wage model will be made mandatory, it's not the government fault. everything blame PAP. lol #blamethepap

This is one prime example of mediocrity ...you are cheering for abysmal outcome. Took them 10 years to achieve an abysmal wage increase.

how is this a victory?my god 10 years just to raise a bunch of cleaners salary by a couple bucks?

my god if Singapore was fighting apartheidism how long would it take?a few centuries?

yes. 10 years for $50 raise probably obliberated by inflation by any count. big fark indeed.

If the gahmen really cares...it will it will ask the bidders to state the pay of the cleaners in the quote etc. Tat way it will determine how much these employers are earning. In ozland..project bids do state the pays n number of workers needed.
