10 May 876 cases

The average person harbors at least 5 different viruses within them eg HPV, HSV and a variety of Adenoviruses but we don't all claim to be "sick" just because of this.

Covid-19 is just one more virus that could well be dormant without causing any illness so the term "sick" isn't appropriate.
But are they sick?

The relevant questions are, are they infected, and are they infectious?

The infection rate does not really matter because the vast majority are not sick.

Infection
An infection is the invasion of an organism's body tissues by disease-causing agents, their multiplication, and the reaction of host tissues to the infectious agents and the toxins they produce. An infectious disease, also known as a transmissible disease or communicable disease], is an illness resulting from an infection.Wikipedia

Local community infection is at 3. That is good. Getting ready for my post COVID life.

There could be a second wave with a much higher fatality rate, like the Spanish Flu about a century ago.

Huge pandemics are never a one-off event.

Something is not right. If you compare the FWs and local residents infection cases chart , one is hovering at hundreds for weeks and the other is declining to tens. I don't mean to stereotype and it is also not because I have no compassion for the migrant workers, but I have nagging suspicion that the FWs themselves are not taking the CB measures seriously, albeit not all of them.

The government is putting a lot of effort to stop the spread of the virus to the point that it is straining the MOM, MOH and police resources. Some of the staff from MOM have even contracted the virus themselves.

If the FWs are not pulling their weight to contain the virus together, then I say let them go back home. We are in this fight together. If they don't play their part and rather infect themselves so that they get the benefits of free food, lodging, wifi and medical services, please go back home. it is better for both parties.

This pandemic will not disappear completely. But time is not on our side. The longer the lockdown, the more severe it will inflict on our economy. If we cannot curb it at the FW's dormitories completely because the FWs are not playing the part, we will have to be prepared to face a resurgence of the coronavirus in the community once the FWs re-enter into the workforce.

We need to restructure the FWs such that only those FWs who play their part get to stay. Those who flout the CM measures should be sent back home. If not, we will never be able to get out of the vicious cycle.

The contagious place now is the Singapore Expo.

Correct, FWs are not taking the measures seriously and some are not being honest during contact tracing. Sinkieland needs to have another task force to interrogate FWs.

How about an average asymptomatic HIV+ prostitute? Is she "sick"?

That's it! The workers are both infected and infectious. They should be locked down under the tightest security possible under all of them have recovered - no exceptions!

meanwhile, 69% of inmates at a federal prison in lompoc, californicate have been tested positive for the ccp virus. that’s herd immunity achieved. what are you going to do? release these (dangerous) inmates and house them in various hotels and convention centers in order to isolate them? no way. it’s inevitable that prison inmates will one way or another infect each other due to overcrowding and close proximity on a daily basis. for fw’s cramped in dorms in sg, should just treat them like prisoners and let them develop herd immunity. it’s also for their own good to be infected now with mild forms of the virus to achieve a natural method of immunization.

Migrant workers are locked down, that's why the infection craze amongst them have not spread out into the general public. It is important that all of them remain in strict lockdown until they have all recovered - no exceptions.

they should be locked down and out from the rest of society like the federal prisoners at lomboc and be allowed to achieve herd immunity. extremely few are seriously ill and only 2 inmates died in lomboc due to the virus. seriously ill are moved to a makeshift field hospital tent within prison compound. nonetheless, inmates hurt and kill each other in prison for other reasons.

That is my point. How did the infection continue to spread like wildfire in the dormitories ?

Either they heck care about the virus or get themselves infected knowingly so that they can get free benefits without having to work. They must have figured that the virus will not kill them for they are neither old nor having any pre-existing medical conditions.

What I am saying is that the infection cases from the FWs are not coming down despite the CB. If it continues to grow unabated , something is amiss ; that the FWs are taking advantage of the CB measures. This cannot continue. FWs who seek to benefit from the CB should be expelled.

SINGAPORE - The Health Ministry said on Sunday (May 10) that 33 Covid-19 cases from a laboratory were false positives, due to an apparatus calibration issue for one of its test kits.
MOH said that subsequent retesting at the National Public Health Laboratory confirmed that these were negative cases.
"There were no false negative results discovered from our review. MOH has taken immediate actions to rectify the situation. The laboratory has stopped all tests and is working to resolve the calibration issue," it added

There was also one imported case among the 876 new cases confirmed, which brings the total Covid-19 case count in Singapore to 23,336. He is a 61-year-old Singaporean man with a travel history to Qatar who was placed on stay-home notice upon arriving in Singapore.

This is the first imported case in over two weeks since two imported cases were confirmed on April 26.

Work permit holders residing in foreign worker dormitories made up 860 of the new cases. There were 11 cases of work permit holders outside dormitories.

Foreign workers from dormitories diagnosed with Covid-19 have crossed 20,000 cases to reach 20,961, or about 6.5 per cent of 323,000 dorm residents.

MOH also identified five new clusters on Sunday. They are: construction sites at 15 Serangoon North Avenue 1 and Tanah Merah Coast Road, 9 and 11 Woodlands Industrial Park E1, and at 515 Yishun Industrial Park A.

Of the new cases, 98 per cent are linked to known clusters, with the rest pending contract tracing.

Three new cases were Singaporeans and permanent residents. One was linked to the Mustafa Centre cluster, while another was linked to Acacia Home at 30 Admiralty Street.

Another 425 patients have been discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities and fully recovered. In all, 2,721 have fully recovered and been discharged.

There are 1,097 who are still in hospital, with 22 in the intensive care unit.

The remaining 19,498 are at community isolation facilities, which house Covid-19 patients who have mild symptoms or are clinically well but still tested positive.

So far, 20 people have died from Covid-19 complications here and six others who tested positive have died from other causes. On Saturday, nine new clusters were identified.

The number of local cases excluding dormitory residents and other work permit holders has been declining, as have the number of unlinked cases.

Singapore now has the highest number of confirmed coronavirus cases in South-east Asia. The Republic took 13 weeks from the first reported case on Jan 23 to cross 10,000 cases on April 22 but just two weeks to reach 20,000 cases on Wednesday.

The spike is largely driven by a rise in cases of migrant workers living in dormitories, which the authorities have said remain high due to extensive testing.

No she is not sick she is just HIV positive. Only when HIV progresses to become AIDS do symptoms start to appear.

Diabetes is far more serious.
