family business is growing but there is not enough help. we have been attempting to hire only sinkies, but no takers so far. job requires worker to drive vans, trucks and distribute goods to retail stores and warehouses within a confined geographic area (only 1/4 of sg map) every day except sundays. all packing and crating are done by 10am, and delivery begins thereafter. if delivery for the day is completed by noon or whatever time, driver and truck can do whatever in idle time without tracking but driver must return truck by 5pm. practice of allowing driver to drive truck to home is stopped as vehicle is too big (20-footer) for parking at hdb estates or rental properties. moreover, we paid for season parking for all vehicles at main warehouse and office. only 40-footer containers are allowed to dock at main warehouse, and only temporary for one day as we have to pay a hefty fee if they dock for over 24 hours. vans are allowed to be driven home and used for personal purposes before and after delivery. very flexible work terms. sgd2000 per month plus year-end bonuses with 4 weeks leave, and yet no new sinkie takers. sinkies working for us are uncles in their late 40s and 50s. so we hired tiongs based on permitted ratio. and we have to pay a foreign worker levy of sgd550 per worker. we are so flexible and generous all workers have remain with us for over 4 years, local and foreign. younger sinkies are fucking spoilt, fussy, and picky.

SINGAPORE: There were 1,331,600 foreigners working in Singapore as of December 2013, Manpower Minister Tan Chuan-Jin told Parliament on Tuesday (Aug 5).
In a written response, Mr Tan said that excluding about 224,500 foreign domestic workers, there were 1,107,100 foreigners employed across different sectors in Singapore. He added that the breakdown by nationality is not publicly available.
In addition, the minister said the construction and food and beverage (F&B) industries are on the list of the top 10 sectors employing the most number of foreigners as of December 2013.

Assuming each make 2 trips per year back to Singapore..1.3 million x 2x $50 = $130 million revenue per year..
