七月初《壹週刊》獨家披露，鴻海董事長郭台銘在6月底赴美前夕，親自下令執行「人力降本」專案，目標在1年內可精簡鴻海員工數34萬人，首波裁員行動已在6月30日執行完畢。據本刊調查，第2波「人力降本」也已經展開，目標9月時將再砍7000人，約是鴻海集團員工數的1%，今年底前不排除還有第3波的行動。
鴻海員工向《壹週刊》表示，考量生產成本、經濟效益等因素，雖然台灣本來就不是鴻海主要的生產基地，但原本鴻海在土城還有1條生產線，而在6月首波「人力降本」後，目前該產線已經關閉，生產人員也已全數資遣離職，也就是說，台灣生產線全沒了，只剩無人工廠的示範線而已。
此外，郭台銘在6月下旬從台灣出發、前往美國威洲後，已經一個多月的時間，期間都沒有回台灣好好與嬌妻子女相聚一番，持續為鴻海轉型以及進擊美國打拚奮鬥。
對於9月是否有第2波「人力降本」行動，目標為1%、7000人一事，本刊向鴻海發言體系求證，截至記者截稿為止，仍未有任何回應。

就有鴻海員工向《壹週刊》記者表示，也有聽到傳言說：「現在（9月）走還有資遣費，之後就不知道了」，但也從其他同事那聽到，對方曾被主管口頭告知：「要嘛去大陸，要不就是自己走，2個選1個。」由於傳言很多，讓他很擔心自己未來的工作到底會怎樣？
