近日，荆州交警在巡逻时发现一名七旬老人在黑暗的国道中步行，因担心发生交通事故，民警试图让老人坐上警车，可老人执意不肯，仍一直往前走。为确保其安全，民警驾驶警车尾随为老人照明，还有一名巡逻民警和老人并肩行走，陪护了3公里路程。
在民警的耐心引导下，老人称其家人都在外打工，而自己记不清现居住地址。早上6点多出门后，就一直在外行走，没吃东西。民警随即给老人拿来了面包和水，半小时后，老人终于答应上警车。通过多方联系，11日凌晨2点，老人家属将其接回老家。
