He added that the person must also be able to meet the high standards expected of this office.

My guess is very likely Gerald Giam will be elected as the new LO. This fellow has been the most consistent in his speech with almost zero scandals nor controversies.

Unlike Pritam who tends to be more brash and dramatic and tends to court trouble, Gerald Giam is more humble, has much higher EQ，沉稳， 心思缜密 sipeh zai even when he kernah attacked by ranjiao PAP MPs from all corners. In fact his impeccable behaviour and speech in the parliament is more like a PAP MP than an opposition.

I think he will bring WP to greater heights.

His active full-time NS rank was SGT in the Army, and more relatable to the vast majority of the general public, without the pitfalls of the ranjiao 'SAF officer' air hated by most people forcing soldiers to 'cheong sua' with the likes of Kee Chiu CCS, Tan Chuan Jin, Ng Chee Meng and of course that famous Ivan Lim case, LOL.

So Pritam's downfall is a blessing in disguise and could signal a new era in WP and opposition politics.
