‘Arrogant’ man in car wash assault video arrested

KUALA LUMPUR: The man who allegedly assaulted a Bangladeshi car wash worker for supposedly 'dirtying' his Range Rover was arrested by the police last night. Sungai Buloh district police chief Mohd Rozi Jidin said the man in his 30s was arrested in Damansara here. “The case is being investigated under Section 325 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing grievous hurt,” he said when contacted today.

It was reported on Saturday that the car wash worker was injured after an attack by a customer. The incident, which happened at an undisclosed location here, saw the victim sustain a broken nose alongside cuts and bruises after an assault by the enraged man. The car wash operator, a Malaysian, had previously been quoted as saying that the customer could have been put off by the worker's 'shoddy' appearance.

It was also alleged that the customer had demanded RM1,000 for the 'damage' incurred to his luxury vehicle. The suspect was seen slapping the Bangladeshi worker several times in a video footage of the incident, which was captured on the shop's CCTV. It was later claimed that the worker was later assaulted at another area of the car wash outlet, but the assault was not captured on video. It was understood that the car wash operator lodged a police report on the incident after the worker was taken to hospital for injuries. The footage has since gone viral on social media and was shared by thousands of netizens since it was uploaded to Facebook by user Atie Abdul Hamid.

Netizens had slammed the man's action as "arrogant" and "despicable", and had called for action to be taken against him.

Someone driving a flashy car and behaving like this in mudland is usually someone with connections.

ok you know in cases like this it's hard to make any judgments. Why? No chinese involved. The mudland attackers aren't chinese the victim isn't chinese so how to make judgement?

Just ask the chinese dogs around here for example narong. Since the attacker isn't chinese narong will ignore it cos he judges situations by the race/identity of the person not their actions so a chinese guy whacking up the bangala would be condemned by narong but a m&d whacking up the bangala he will act blur.

Unless maybe the attackers are actually chinese even though they look like m&ds on the video.
