From Straits Times live blogging:

Now PM turns to WP chief Low Thia Khiang, who blamed the govt for being interested in profits and raising the cost of many public services.
PM Lee says it is important to let private sector have a role, if govt
solves every problem than why did Chinese leader Deng Xiaoping have to upturn so many things Mao believed in and depend on open markets?
“If Goverment can do everything than North Korea will be most prosperous in the world!”

Lee Hsien Loong is either totally missing the point, or he is trying to obfuscate and confuse the voters. He thinks people are still simple minded enough to believe whatever he says.

Of course it is important to let the private sector have a role. Of course "open markets" are good.

But is the current system one where there is an "open market"?? Is there real competition?

Do you have a choice of utilities provider? SP Services makes more than $7 bn profit each year thanks to its absolute monopoly. Is this an open market?

SMRT has a complete monopoly of public transport and has also got a stake in the Taxi business, alongside Comfort DelGro (another GLC). Is this an open market?

Is it possible for you to sign up for a landline from anyone other than SingTel or StarHub both of which are GLCs?

Fact of the matter is that they are NOT operating under free market conditions, they are acting as monopolists or colluders who simply SQUEEZE the shit out of the consumers for their own benefit!

Today, more than 70% of businesses are state owned enterprises. This was officially admitted as early as the late 1990s in the Overseas Singaporean Report by the Leegime. Then, it was already 68%

But N. Korea IS the most prosperous in the world... in the minds of their dear leader and the regime. Something like how Pinky and his MIWs think of their Sinkeepoo and themselves.

We are being robbed systematically and LEEgally. But many choose to be deaf and blind to the sickening reality.

His privatising is monopoly controlled by PAP and reaped profit out of the citizens into the PAP pocket. Selling our country land to make profit and than the developer passed the cost to the buyers. This was what Low Thia Kiang meant by PAP is greedy and hurting our people pocket. LHL is simply running out of bullet and anyhow shoot to confuse the voters. Taking China and North Korea as example is simply no brain. He has no other example to counter WP goes to prove WP and the voters are right about PAP agenda.

LHL also couldnt think of a good rejoinder to voting for WP to get 2 MPs to serve you. He was grasping for words and finally made a threat again - that if everyone thinks like that, we will be in trouble. Where got trouble? He's a Math ace in Cambridge, how come he cannot figure it out?

"We will be in trouble" meaning PAP will be in trouble not the citizens. Isn't this what we wanted, to put PAP into baptism of fire and free Singapore from all sufferings created by PAP.
