A commotion took place this morning in a quiet street of bungalows where a man threatened to upload his girlfriend's sex video on the internet.
The confrontation happened at about 1.35am on 28 January, in front of a bungalow at Glasgow Road near Yio Chu Kang Road.
Reporters arrived in time to see a middle age man pulling his daughter into the house while loudly scolding another man outside.
The man had come to ask to reconcile with his girlfriend, a 22-year-old woman from the well-to-do family.
The couple had been talking at the gate when the 35-year-old man suddenly pushed the younger woman and smashed her mobile phone on the ground.
He was also threatening to post a sex video of her on the internet if she refused to resume their relationship.
The woman's father and brother had monitored the couple from the house and had rushed over to help when the man acted violently.
Their shouts could be heard down the entire street as the two called the police and tried to chase the offending man away.
The family explained the couple's tumultuous relationship to reporters.
The young woman had got to know him, a car salesman, when she and her father were shopping for a car in September 2011.
At that time, they did not buy a car from this salesman but the man got her phone number and began to earnestly court her.
According to her father, the man had told them that he makes more than $10,000 a month and stays at Sentosa Cove, a well known high-end district.
However, less than a month later, her family checked and found out that the man is already married and stays in an HDB flat in the east.
The upset woman confronted the man at his home and was further shocked when she saw that he also has three kids.
At the same time, the man was carrying out affairs with several other lovers beside her.
Adding to that, the saleman's wife had also come to the bungalow three weeks ago to create trouble for the family.
The man's wife had climbed over the bungalow gate to look for her husband in the house.
When she failed to find her husband, she took to scratching the family's car, which was worth $130,000.
The act was caught on camera but the family chose not to call the police.
They said, "She had three children with her and her husband is having extra-marital affairs. She is already very pitiful, we don't want to push her any further. What if she does something foolish."
Eventually the family opened the gate and let the woman leave.
Reporters also found out from the man's wife that she is a housewife with three children, who all rely on the salesman as the sole breadwinner.
Because of this, she chose to close an eye on her husband's many affairs outside.
