    Checkpoints at Woodlands and Tuas

I just posted the same article at another thread. I'm a daily commuter and I'm shaking my head at this news. What a nightmare to execute this and a nightmare for all 400,000+ commuters.

This is just going to make the jams even worse. I can't imagine how people will have to leave their vehicle to get their fingerprints scanned in that small tiny lane. All in the name of security...

JB charging RM20 for foreign car visiting ? Is it confirm ?

I just checked causewayjam.com and the traffic back to JB at this time (5.00pm on Thurs) is still so jammed over at Causeway. I guess the RM20 has not had the impact on traffic movement as some (including myself) had anticipated.

    JB-SIN-JB Commuting Times (DAILY)

I have had no trouble at all. My kids were in pri and sec school not too long ago and now one of my children is attending Poly. In fact, the pri and sec schools often send out personal info update forms and they had a section to let the school know if you were daily commuters from JB. The...

    JB-SIN-JB Commuting Times (DAILY)

I think it might be tough on your kids to take public transport across the border every morning. I wanted to recommend Century Bus (school bus service) but I just realised they only ply JB and Woodlands/Sembawang/Yishun areas. If you have the flexibility to work from home, is driving your kids...

MACS application only done in Singapore now

Not as easy :( Especially if you have business visas in your passport and to apply for new visa every time you have a new passport is so troublesome lor.

MACS application only done in Singapore now

I can confirm this was my experience, Investor888. It is very stupid. But what's our recourse? At the moment, I don't see any apart from maybe lobbying. Then again, we don't have a collective voice to do any kind of lobbying. SIGH.

You have my best wishes for you and your family. You made a decision based on the needs of your family. You put yourself out with the daily commute to ensure you provide a better life for them. To me, that is admirable and a mark of a great provider. Keep at it :)

Traffic jams at both CIQs (Woodlands Causeway and Tuas 2nd Link)

Although they say it will be implemented for later for riders and drivers, I am really curious as to how they would implement this. Imagine an MPV drives through and there are 8 pax in that vehicle, does that mean everyone has to disembark to get their fingerprints taken? Didn't Malaysia try...

Sharing my experience applying for MACS in JB (IRDA office). Yes, if you have a property in JB you can apply for your family - including kids under 18yrs old. You need to bring a copy of you S&P agreement as proof. Kids over 18yrs old have to apply in S'pore :( I was at the MACS office in JB...

We use Grab taxi frequently - both in JB and SGP. We get a taxi assigned to us quite quickly, except of course if it is peak hour. Normal booking charges apply and usually it will state in the app. And the taxis use meter for the journey. Hope that helps!

Fab! Thank you! I don't want to jinx anything but my morning commute has been surprisingly smooth. At first I thought it was just the extra days people were extending after CNY public holidays but I'm still pleasantly surprised when I drove through at 6.30am this morning to almost no traffic...
