VEP - Does Malaysia fully understand why Singapore charges VEP?

Yes bro, you are right that politicians of many countries like to do retaliation policies without much intelligence . If it benefits them, go ahead of course. But when it obviously doesn't and they still do it, that might explain why they are still third world.

VEP - Does Malaysia fully understand why Singapore charges VEP?

Thursday night, 9 April 2015. Drove directly to passport counter at Malaysian side(Woodlands Causeway towards Singapore) earlier at around 7.30pm, totally clear. At Singapore side, only 2 cars in front of us in the queue. To be frank, I'm totally loving this increase in tolls and the upcoming...

My Malaysian friend(a Sg PR) whom I got to know in a car group in Sg, works in Sg, drives a Sg car but resides in Johor and do the daily commute. After the tolls increased, he sold his property in Johor and shifted to Sg.

VEP - Does Malaysia fully understand why Singapore charges VEP?

I think you might be right. I just did a Google search and found that LTA did contacted Malaysia to explain why we need to charge VEP. So Malaysia should know it, I thought they didn't understand and just charge because we do. Looks like they are just using Sg's VEP as an excuse to charge. But...

VEP - Does Malaysia fully understand why Singapore charges VEP?

Exactly. It's common sense - Higher price(in this case - toll and VEP) = Lower demand. We're not suggesting that IR will fail. Just that Malaysia should be doing things to encourage investment interest, not the opposite.

Rental rates have fallen quite a lot as compared to early 2014 when I made the post above. Since a few months ago, I heard that some SemiDs in East Ledang were being rented out at as low as RM7k-RM8k(partly furnished).

Haha LeMans, You have a PM again. By the way, your rent is really high for today's market. That amount will make all the property owners in Iskandar say, "WHAT!!! Don't bluff lah". Hahaha! Congratulations bro. Did your tenant request for full furnishing? Is your rental agreement 1 year or 2 years?
