In Thailand there are many little restaurant gems around that often surprise one if found. Most of these are away from the city. One such restaurant that I found recently was Baan Lan Khao - https://maps.app.goo.gl/QqMToa3eZJ1J6Kna9?g_st=ipc

Its about time to do some Isaan since past 3 weeks had been overseas and when back bringing visitors to have other food here in Bangkok.

An Isaan restaurant opened near home about half year ago and it had become my favourite Isaan restaurant in Bangkok serving authentic Isaan cuisine. Simple restaurant in a metal roof shed but well lid and decorated and clean. Opens at 11am to serve the lunch customers but too bad closes at 9pm - https://maps.app.goo.gl/CKV3nfkbYnmvL7eh9

In Thailand their popular crispy pork, known as moo-krop, is use in many dishes including salad to soup to stir-fry with vegetables. Some ended up with rice stalls dishing our crispy pork belly on top of rice with a thick sweet sauce.

Passed by one such stall today and stopped for lunch - https://maps.app.goo.gl/xqgje3xcBpyH9fgQ6

Stall opens at 8am always with a queue for takeaways at that time and by lunch time people are queueing for seats

Whenever I visit Rayong I will have to pass by a town Baan Bueng which I will stop for a bowl or two of their special fish noodle - https://maps.app.goo.gl/tshFcpJkJdMdaupx7

There are a few things special with this fish noodle - the savoury broth is made with fish and cuttlefish and tastes so special and good; the noodle is literally made with fish meat; the bowl of noodle is garnish with strips of dry cuttlefish and dry shrimps; also added is a flat piece of minced pork. Another must have at this shop is their fried crab dumpling.

An other thing I noticed immediately and also seen everyday throughout the trip was moon cake makeshift stalls along the roads its everywhere and all selling the same brand, very strange, how do they compete?
