Rider fault for not keeping proper look out for car door opening and anyhow squeeze recklessly.
Car driver did not wrong for briefly dropping off passengers which is legal under traffic rules.
Roads marked with a single yellow line indicate that parking is not allowed at all times on the side where it is drawn, except for the immediate picking up and letting down of passengers.

True. But if he stopped nearer to the pavement, maybe a pmd or cyclist will bang the door too.
He should stop 1 foot from the pavement. Not even the most skillful PMD or cyclist can pass through.

Rule of thumb ... NEVER overtake from the left, no matter how slow the car is. Especially in Autobahn. They have a strict rule that no one is allowed to overtake from a slower lane.
