Haha, keep increase rent lah, now make shop owners dulan push back already LOL.
But sad to say, many retail shops have already GG due to these greedy REIT corporate shareholders.
The Gov should have intervene and fine these PCB farkers a long time ago.
Hence I will never buy REIT shares, REIT shares are always dirty 肮脏钱 money taken from retailers who then have to pass on the costs to commoners.
It's an extremely evil money with a bad karma.

How the govt fine itself? end of day, it is their won pocket.
I believe DBS was one of the earliest into the "REIT" type biz though not called REIT at that time

End of the day the REITs needed more profit to sustain their business. So as this will actually show up on their balance sheet and share stock price. Nothing wrong with it.
Just that the mall need to bring in more things for experience then to make every mall the same old thing. They like to use the phrases the model must be sustainable. Thus it must be scalable and must be easily duplicated. That's to say every mall will be almost the same..
Unless the price is right, no one will want to shop inside a shopping mall.

BHG is still there, they just cut 1 floor only.
With Kino book store opening at Raffles City, I'm sure they will exit Bugis when that lease expires. Bugis J becoming very jialat
