Why did civil services give Sng Chia Huat data to the ministers for private lawyer?

It is important to understand that ACRA (the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority of Singapore) does not automatically disclose the residential addresses of company shareholders or directors. Under current regulations, individuals registering a business are allowed to provide an alternative address, such as a business or office address, instead of their personal residence. This measure is in place to protect the privacy and safety of individuals involved in business entities, especially in situations where public disclosure of personal data could pose risks. Therefore, unless a shareholder or director explicitly lists their home address, it will not be publicly accessible through ACRA records.

Public can buy Company Profile from ACRA & you will be amazed at the details provided

I believe Sng should be just a sample target. There are sure many many more of comments similar to Sng but they cannot go after many people at the same time.
Tiobo.

Terrible to see public servants using lawyers to intimidate ordinary citizens. One day it might be anyone of us.
“First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out because I was not a socialist. Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out because I was not a trade unionist. Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out because I was not a Jew. Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me,"

Invasion of privacy. Need multiple parties in the system to stop this.
In S'pore, organisations - including govt bodies in certain contexts - need consent to collect, use or disclose a person's personal data. If Mr Sng did not consent for his actual name and residential address that was obtained through private legal correspondence, to be shared with the ministers, this obligation has been breached.

Told u Liao..Singapore is not safe..u want safety, then walk across the causeway.
The General Elections are rigged every 5 years since the Elections Dept is under the PM's Office to begin with. The PAP dare not lose the elections or 60 years of skeletons will fall out of the cupboard.
